Submission guidelines

The Review accepts submissions of scholarly articles, international current-affairs notes and book reviews throughout the academic year.

Types of texts

The Review publishes three types of contributions: articles (8,000 to 15,000 words, footnotes included), international current-affairs notes (3,000 to 6,000 words) and critical reviews (1,500 to 3,000 words). Texts must be original and must not have been published elsewhere, in whole or in part.

Formatting and citation

Manuscripts must follow the Chicago citation style (footnotes and bibliography), latest edition. Texts are submitted in an editable word-processing format, 1.5 line spacing, with footnotes numbered continuously.

Review process

Every submission undergoes blind review by at least two peer specialists in the relevant field. The average time between submission and a first decision is six to ten weeks.

Copyright

Authors retain their copyright and grant the Review a non-exclusive publication licence, including distribution of the PDF version on this site and deposit in partner scholarly databases.
